Our Work

CNU New England organizes meaningful events that bring together a cross-disciplinary network of professionals and advocates who work arm-in-arm to build strong cities and towns.

Our projects and campaigns serve to empower our members’ efforts, identify policy opportunities, spread great ideas and innovative work to a regional audience, and catalyze new strategies for implementing policy through design approaches. Our events connect community and business leaders with design professionals in the areas of health, development, and transportation, all in an effort to help build places people love.

From our Urbanism Summit, to our Urbanism Awards, to our (Un)Built Exhibition series, our events unite the movement as opportunities to connect, convene, build alliances, and learn from one another.

Our staff, leadership, members, partners, and allies are experts on building better places, and CNU New England helps bring them together.

CNU New England’s work is guided by the Charter for the New Urbanism. Our goal is to affect change through education and advocacy that reflect the principles and practices defined within it.

Our mission is to:

I.  Educate community members and stakeholders about the benefits of New Urbanist planning, design and development.

II.  Encourage the adoption of policies and regulations at the regional level that promote traditional human-scaled urbanism.

III.  Forge partnerships with like-minded organizations and individuals to identify opportunities and strategies to create better urbanism.
