Topic: Transformative Highway Projects in Providence
Learn how community engagement around two major highway projects is reshaping the landscape of Providence, RI. Public engagement efforts led by the City of Providence successfully changed the dialogue around and outcome of these major infrastructure projects-- one in the heart of Downtown Providence and the other in one of the City's most diverse low-income neighborhoods-- to ensure that environmental justice concerns and good urbanism reversed poor decisions made during previous decades of urban renewal.
