During this past election, we heard from both candidates, “we need to find alternatives to foreign oil”. Actually, didn’t we hear those same words 8 years ago? So what is the issue? China is building the worlds largest mass transit system in the world (and doing it in 10 years), and now we are borrowing billions of dollars from them, and handing it to the Middle East so we can drive our cars and heat our homes.

PARTICIPATION OPPORTUNITY
CNU partnered with U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) to create LEED for Neighborhood Development (LEED-ND), a rating system to assess green neighborhood design. As the rating system approaches completion, the partners are opening it up for public comment beginning Nov. 17, 2008. The public comment period will close Jan. 5, 2009. The final rating system will be balloted by CNU members in spring 2009 and is predicted to launch mid-2009.
