Join CNU New England and CNU New York for a walking tour, lunch, and happy hour in Northeastern Connecticut. The tour will begin at the newly redone Storrs Center, a dense, walkable, and brand new traditional college town for Connecticut's largest and premier public university. Led by Lou Marquet of Leyland Associates, the tour will highlight the new development and its establishment of a sense of place among UCONN and its surrounding businesses. Next, hop on the tour bus to join us in Willimantic, CT for a walk through the historical mill town, once called the "Thread City," led by Joseph Vallone of Joseph Vallone Architects+Development Studio. Come walk Main Street and experience both the historical hidden gems of the town as well as the new riverfront and efforts to attract small tech startups. Highlights include the Frog Bridge and Garden-on-the-Bridge and a lunch at Cafemantic on Main Street. Happy Hour to follow at the Willimantic Brewing Company.
Arrival and registration begins at 9:30am at Storrs Center, before the tour begins at 10am and moves to Willimantic at 12pm. Lunch will last an hour before the Willimantic tour, and an optional and informal Happy Hour beings at 3pm at the Willimantic Brewing Company.
